Kansas voters reject amendment on Supreme Court selection
The majority do not want to change how Supreme Court justices are selected. As of 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, the results stand at 124,020 "no" votes and 52,230 "yes" votes. The system in place since 1958 tasks a nominating committee — made up of five lawyers and four non-lawyers from across the state — with interviewing and assessing potential candidates for the state's highest court.
